It seems that to be "of the church" one needs to be both peaceable and a follower of Christ together. It is interesting to think of this, when there are many who would be un-peaceable followers.
Also interesting to consider that it implies that to be "of the church" we must first have gained that hope. Do you suppose that the "hope obtained through promise" might be promise with a Capital P? As in the Holy Spirit of Promise?
