Loving all means we understand like Alma who in the pains of eternal torment realized the precarious position we are all in (Mosiah 27, 28). It doesn't mean accepting sin. It is not loving to say there is no sin where there is sin. It is not loving to neglect to warn others of the consequences of sin. Love in its truest sense, means we desire that no soul should perish, that we kindly look upon all and do all within our power—not with rancor or cajoling or argument—but to have sufficient light within us to persuade, to teach, to reason with one another. We will surely be imposed upon by those who use compulsion,1 but we must return good for evil as does our Father in Heaven, for no truer love or act of persuasion exists and no greater act of imposition was born than a Man lay down his life for his friends.

1. "For it must needs be that offenses come; but woe to that man by whom the offense cometh!" (Matthew 18:6, Inspired Version)
