Happy Rosh Hashanah (the Hebrew New Year) and happy Jubilee (50th year after seven sets of seven years)!

Partial solar eclipse today, and there are some amazing Auroras being photographed and posted at EarthSky's FB page.

Equinox is in ten days and blood moon in fifteen.

Notes

Jen: Hey I know where this is!!!!! hahaha! Look at those awesome sunflowers. Unintended consequences of loving your wife and family. So cool.

LHB: What a terrific way of looking at this. MSB hung bird feeders at the window so I could see them while I did the dishes and worked in the kitchen, and while the kids eat and do homeschool (but mostly just for me). And we sure have seen a lot of birds. One day we had almost 15.

The birds eat the seeds and scatter them in the grass and suddenly we have sunflowers we never planted. Yep. Unintended consequences for sure.
