It would seem all facets of life, truth depends on not trusting the arm of flesh, and not being afraid.

"If I come to one conclusion, then I hold this conclusion's toes to the fire. I challenge it with every angle I can come up with. I am willing and eager to radically change my thoughts about something if I encounter information that gives me a more sophisticated viewpoint on the matter - or reveals variables that I had yet to take into consideration. I'm seeking to find the truth, and expand my knowledge - not prove that I'm right, and expand my dominion." (Matt Stone, Diet Recovery)

The individual is afraid of offending God by going against an established creed, or rather the creed they've established in their mind in the pursuit of truth.

The "scientist" who claims the most open-mindedness takes for granted information established by other scientists without bothering with their own proofs.

The doctor and the dentist must conform to the "truths" established by the AMA and the ADA and trusts the work and research done by others.

All of this "establishment" lends itself to the control, dominion and compulsion of men, and the ability of a few to mislead the many.

"If your gospel is not at least making some people feel like it is a license to sin, then it's probably not the gospel. The early apostles preaching of the gospel resulted in people thinking it was a license to sin, which is why they had to address that it wasn't a license to sin, that we shouldn't sin because grace abounds, and that the grace of God teaches us to say no to ungodliness. This is a necessary clarification if you do see people thinking that the outlandish love and grace revealed in Christ is a license to sin, but they had to address it because preaching the gospel sometimes made people think it!" (Jacob Wright, 4/13/2016)

God offered Israel something at the mount. They didn't accept and in his "wrath" gave them a strict law that that only Jesus could keep. When Jesus came, it seems to be a glimpse of what Israel was offered at the mount.

Why was Jesus able to keep the law? I suspect not because of fortitude or will-power, but something that flowed absolutely naturally. I suspect the Law was naturally what a peaceful, happy, joyful, curious, loving being would always keep. But when someone attempts to keep the law with brute-force, it is looked at in completely the wrong way and always fails.
