Sexual reproduction is death as opposed to parthenogenesis where an exact copy of DNA is handed down. In sex, half of the genetic material is thrown away, and the resulting offspring is unpredictable. Myths such as the midrash versions of Adam's creation, vs the angelic steady-state, Demeter and Persephone, or even Wonder Woman who initially preserve their species through parthenogenetic means speak to the introduction of sex, and thus death, as superior (or in some perspectives, inferior) in that it creates variety, unexpected variations and novelty, all with their own will and desires. Yet these unexpected differences create conflict and fear and a yearning within to also return (fear instead of faith) to the comfort of sameness, the womb, the heard, the tribe, the church or the totalitarian state. Yet it is God who delights in differences and who is meek enough to allow them all and wait and provide experience until they realize to their satisfaction, that the way to peace, happiness and joy is to be like God: patient, self-sacrificing, tolerant, loving, delighting in beauty, diversity and free will.

It is as if the Satan in us desires sameness, compulsion and control, where as God in us is trying to come through and allow diversity and liberty, even if it means we forfeit our own life rather than harm another who is different from us. In our internal struggle we are learning to determine which is better.

In an expression of this God gave to mankind the infinite variety and beauty of nature to "please the eye and gladden the heart." An environment in which man can look upon it overall like a beautiful painting, or man can look with a microscope or a telescope to find endless opportunities for learning and exploring.

"The world of the angelic hierarchy was an evolutionary stream of light in a steady-state, but the creation of Adam from matter disturbs that primordial steady-state; it generates the creative disequilibrium necessary for change, transformation, and evolution. Nothing is more awe-inspiring than an angel, nothing more seemingly unimpressive than a human being, and yet contained in that handful of dust is the signature for the entire universe of space-time. God is up to something, and not even the proud angels who will defy Him can fathom what will become the ultimate Cabbala, the Logos, the Christos to come. Time, rather than being remote from Divinity, now begins to be a most favored and intimate expression of Godhead. With the creation of Adam, history itself becomes a mystery school for the elect of God." (FB p. 15)

The commandments can be looked at as God requiring uniformity, however they can instead be seen as loving your neighbor, though he may be foolish, for if you love the "least," you love God by extension, which two commandments, Jesus declared, summed up the rest: don't steal, don't break the heart of your wife, don't tell untruths and thus harm your neighbor with bad information, forgive, turn the other cheek, etc. When Enoch saw God weep, it was not because they didn't keep some duty, it was because mankind hated each other. When God chastised the fasting Pharisee, it was because they did it as a duty, and not a reminder to help their poor and different neighbor. When he called their incense burning, their new moons and their ordained feasts "abominations" and "iniquity" it was because they did not "seek judgment, relieve the oppressed, judge the fatherless or plead for the widow."

In the midrash, why was Adam able to name the animals when the angels weren't? Because naming the animals represents a creative act, whereas the angelic steady-state had no room for change and different ideas within Adam however was a multitude, and the symbolism of naming millions of animals is a symbol of the creativity in Adam's mud/genetic/diverse makeup.

These are some thoughts summing up my understandings while reading The Time Falling Bodies Take to Light.
