As we grow into adults, one of our jobs to perform is to know everything. Why? Well because all other adults know everything.  So we must either pretend to know a lot out of fear because we need to survive, or we must pretend to know a lot because of pride and we desire to dominate.  Lost are the childlike qualities of asking, wondering questioning, searching, believing.

Notes:

"...the things of God are of deep import; and time, and experience, and careful and ponderous and solemn thoughts can only find them out. Thy mind, O man! if thou wilt lead a soul unto salvation, must stretch as high as the utmost heavens, and search into and contemplate the darkest abyss, and the broad expanse of eternity—thou must commune with God." (Joseph Smith, TPJS, page 137)

"Heaven responds to questions."

"...the wise, and the learned, and they that are rich, who are puffed up because of their learning, and their wisdom, and their riches - yea, they are they whom he despiseth; and save they shall cast these things away, and consider themselves fools before God, and come down in the depths of humility, He will not open unto them." (2 Nephi 9:41-42)
