This Hymn is sacred to me.

Matt Maher - Because He Lives (Amen)

I believe in the son
I believe in the risen one
I believe I overcome
By the power of his blood

Amen
Amen
I'm alive
I'm alive
Because [of Him]1
Amen
Amen
Let my song join the one that never ends
Because [of Him]

I was dead in the grave
I was covered in sin and shame
I heard mercy call my name
He rolled the stone away2

Amen
Amen
I'm alive
I'm alive
Because [of Him]
Amen
Amen
Let my song join the one that never ends
Because [of Him]

Because [of Him]
I can face tomorrow
Because [of Him]
Every fear is gone
I know He holds my life my future in His hands

Amen
Amen
I'm alive
I'm alive
Because [of Him]
Amen
Amen
Let my song join the one that never ends

Amen
Amen
I'm alive
I'm alive
Because [of Him]
Amen
Amen
Let my song join the one that never ends

Because [of Him]
Because He lives

It is because of his grace, his love that we even live, move and breathe. There is great reason to rejoice because his faith empowers our life to put our sins aside and seek him. There is great reason to seek because we have not yet been reconciled to Him. We have not been redeemed, but he has provided a space for us to improve our days and seek his face and reverse, for each individual, what happened in the Garden.

Notes

1. I've changed the lyrics slightly to suit me.

2. I believe these words of the grave are not just symbollic, but that we have hid ourselves in the dens and caves of the earth asking the "rocks and the mountains to fall upon us." Yet love persisted and reached down to my lowly pitiful and terrified state and I heard mercy call my name and rolled the stone away. Amen!
