The Law of Moses was given to a people who had no ability to live above a command and control existence. The Law of Christ is about the heart of the person. The story of the last 3400 years seems to be an allegory of the existence of the individual from their creation to salvation. In the acts of our existence, we know little to nothing ourselves, but it is given to us to act and be agents to ourselves. It is only through acting that we gain knowledge. We are given a law, and as we act without understanding, we violate that law, but it is given to us to choose. We violate the law because, as Eve said, it is good that we pass through sorrow. We cannot know for ourselves until we taste the sweet and the bitter, and our Creator waits and watches, following a perfect law calculated to draw all souls to him without compulsory means. The Law was given so that we could understand in the eternities by our experience that the Law is correct until we are able to experience the Law of Christ written in our hearts.
