This is a statement that summarizes the thoughts of the Remnant movement after the possible covenant was announced:
The principles by which I shall be governed shall be every word that proceeds from the mouth of God through His authorized minister. (A well-known luminary in the restoration movement)
I suppose this man would have joined the Danites, or applauded, or even given the Salt Sermon, both of which were highly likely to be approved by Joseph, and partaken in all the mistakes ...

My thoughts on the last few verses: It is a burden (and a joy) to search out the Lord, to distinguish for oneself the submerged of truth and error, light and darkness. For those who say what burden? are placing the burden upon others who claim to know the Lord. When a person says this man can never lead me astray, they have removed their own burden of knowing the Lord, oblivious to the burden required.

From a friend:
I think that the scriptures (e.g. Ezekiel 14, 20, Jacob 4:14) point to a startling and disquieting concept: the Lord will lead you exactly one place—wherever it is you want to go.
We all know the idea of the prophet can t lead you astray is a bunch of hooey. But we are still looking for someone who can t lead us astray. And we pin that idea on God. God operates according to eternal law, and it seems that this idea of him not leading us astray violates the law of agency...

Korihor had a false angel appear to him, he gave him a commission to teach, the end result was putting God out of the reach of man and denying Christ. He didn t know what he was preaching, he didn t know God, but he went on pretending anyway.
But behold, the devil hath deceived me; for he appeared unto me in the form of an angel, and said unto me: Go and reclaim this people, for they have all gone astray after an unknown God. And he said unto me: There is no God; yea, and he taught me that w...

Ezekiel 14 and especially 20 contain some of the most interesting passages in scripture it can turn upside-down our understanding of the way God deals with mankind.
In these chapters the Lord asks Ezekiel whether he should be inquired of by a people who s hearts are on some substitute for God. He says that he will answer them according to what is in their heart, and it will be a deception and both the people and prophet will fall together.
In 20 he tells these same idolotrous Elders of Is...

The Gods, male and female, come together to create an intelligence, a spirit. Two coming together for the purpose of creating individual entities with freedom to choose; freedom to choose its own path, freedom to explore and blossom into what the unique Spirit of God is in them. This is the spirit of God in all, given to them either with or without their awareness.
When we come here, we are little children. We are bold and fearless and wild. As we grow, we become convinced that we are frail. ...

We have contorted God s words, much like the early Christians, who fell into apostasy. We claim that because we having living prophets, we will not be led astray.
What does it mean to not be led astray? That one soul will not be lost? That all will make it back? That s a dangerous claim.
It is interesting that the claims that marked end of a previous life, are marking the end of this one.

The devil knows many signs but does not know the sign of the Son of Man, or Jesus. No one can truly say he knows God until he has handled something, and this can only be in the Holiest of Holies. (Joseph Smith, WJS)
Satan at one time stood in the presence of God.
I beheld Satan as lightning fall from heaven. (Luke 10:18)
And there was war in heaven: Michael and his angels fought against the dragon; and the dragon fought and his angels, and prevailed not; neither was their...

For the preparation wherewith I design to prepare mine apostles to prune my vineyard for the last time, that I may bring to pass my strange act, that I may pour out my Spirit upon all flesh--But behold, verily I say unto you, that there are many who have been ordained among you, whom I have called but few of them are chosen. They who are not chosen have sinned a very grievous sin, in that they are walking in darkness at noon-day. (D&C 95:4-6)
Here God is saying that He is designing to d...

Knowledge saves a man; and in the world of spirits no man can be exalted but by knowledge. (Joseph Smith, HC 14:15)
A man is saved no faster than he gets knowledge, for if he does not get knowledge, he will be brought into captivity by some evil power in the other world, as evil spirits will have more knowledge, and consequently more power than many men who are on the earth. Hence it needs revelation to assist us, and give us knowledge of the things of God. (Joseph Smith, HC 4:34)

These are some of my thoughts on the endowment. I will not reveal anything here that I have covenanted not to reveal.
Consider yourself respectively, Adam and Eve
To understand the blessings in the endowment, we are told that we all must consider ourselves Adam and Eve respectively. Adam and Eve are saved beings. They fell, they struggled through apostasy to obtain true messengers, and to ultimately, in their mortal bodies, again be in the presence of God. We too, each struggle through apo...

Knowledge of or about?
Isaiah 11 LDS chapter heading:
The stem of Jesse (Christ) will judge in righteousness—The knowledge about God will cover the earth in the Millennium—The Lord will raise an ensign and gather Israel
They shall not hurt nor destroy in all my holy mountain: for the earth shall be full of the knowledge of the Lord, as the waters cover the sea.
In what is a seemingly minor mistake is the knowledge and attitude of the LDS compilers, authorit...

Then came certain of the elders of Israel unto me, and sat before me. And the word of the Lord came unto me, saying, Son of man, these men have set up their idols in their heart, and put the stumblingblock of their iniquity before their face: should I be inquired of at all by them?
Therefore speak unto them, and say unto them, Thus saith the Lord God; Every man of the house of Israel that setteth up his idols in his heart, and putteth the stumblingblock of his iniquity before his face, an...

We claim the privilege of worshiping Almighty God according to the dictates of our own conscience, and allow all men the same privilege, let them worship how, where, or what they may. —11th Article of Faith
I did not like the old man being called up [in a church court] for erring in doctrine. It looks too much like the Methodist, and not like the Latter-day Saints. Methodists have creeds which a man must believe or be asked out of their church. I want the liberty of thinking and believi...

For such are false apostles, deceitful workers, transforming themselves into the apostles of Christ. And no marvel; for Satan himself is transformed into an angel of light. Therefore it is no great thing if his ministers also be transformed as the ministers of righteousness; whose end shall be according to their works. (Paul, 2 Cor 11:12-15)
And now, when Moses had said these words, Satan cried with a loud voice, and ranted upon the earth, and commanded, saying: I am the Only Begotten, w...

A description in D&C 76 of those who will inherit Telestial Glory:
And the glory of the telestial is one, even as the glory of the stars is one; for as one star differs from another star in glory, even so differs one from another in glory in the telestial world; For these are they who are of Paul, and of Apollos, and of Cephas. These are they who say they are some of one and some of another—some of Christ and some of John, and some of Moses, and some of Elias, and some of Esaias, and some of...
